 Cape Haze is comprised of several areas including Placida, Rotonda, Englewood and South Gulf Cove. Cape Haze residents and visitors enjoy an unspoiled way of life in one of the most beautiful vacation regions in the state of Florida. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico, west of Port Charlotte, and is considered part of the Punta Gorda metro area. Average high temperatures for this region of Florida range from the upper 80’s in the summer to a wonderful lower 70’s in the dead of winter. Being completely surrounded by water means Cape Haze has miles of white sand beaches for vistitors and residents to enjoy. Things to do include exploring two State Parks and fishing along Lemon Bay and the Charlotte Harbor Estuary. With all of the water around, water sports are in great supply including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, boating, jet skiing, parasailing, and waterskiing.
 Currently the Cape Haze peninsula has over 46,000 residents living here full-time. Although the average age is 58, we have many young families living in the Cape Haze area. There are three elementary schools, a middle school and high school, plus a private school.
Many professional golf courses and tennis courts are also found in the Cape Haze area. The Cedar Point Environmental Center has 88 acres with marked hiking trails through pine flat woods, oak scrub, salt flats and the mangroves of Lemon Bay. Bald Eagles and Gopher Tortoises are found here, and guided tours of the center are available year round.  Lemon Bay Park, located north of Dearborn Street in Englewood, has a butterfly garden, nature trails and picnic sites. These are just a few of the exciting and interesting sites to see in the Cape Haze vicinity. In addition, the cities of Sarasota and Tampa are an easy drive to the north, and Fort Myers and Naples are to the south.
